One of my personal goals is to decrease the full negative environmental impacts of one million people.
A challenge I immediately faced was no straightforward way to measure our full environmental impacts. However, there is the commonly used and well-researched "footprint family," including the carbon footprint, ecological footprint, and water footprint. Even though the EU recommends using all footprints together, this currently isn't a common practice. In fact, there is currently no combined calculator for all three footprints (at least that I could find with a couple hours of googling!). I'd love to make this happen - for now this site has recommendations for individual footprint calculators to use, discussion of how they work together, and further resources. One day I hope to build on existing calculators to create one simple combined one which can be used by individuals, businesses, even regional areas perhaps. The site will soon also have some rudimentary "how to decrease your impact" tips, although many of the individual calculators have tips already. Another long-term goal of this site is to have a more direct tracker, so we can measure our combined impact at decreasing our environmental footprints. Question: What do you think of Full Footprint's new site so far? Is it clear? Does it make sense to you?
